Wednesday near SLC

We took a drive into Salt Lake City, and went to Bingham canyon copper mine. The  visitors center located on the rim of the open canyon pit was amazing. First we looked up information about the mine and when we got there it made the experience even better. A little trivia, this tire costs $18.000-$ 26.000 it will only last thru nine months of service. The pit is 3.5 mile across and 3/4 miles deep. They have taken ore from this pit for over 100 years. The trucks carry up to 320 tons per load. The trucks stand 26 ft high.  Look closely and you will see a long line of the trucks coming and going from the crusher area. Our last picture is our lunch stop in Jordan.

A few good days in No. Utah

Monday, we started on our small shopping spree. This picture is for those who wanted to go to the outlet mall in Park City
Next a trip to the Olympic village, museum, slopes, viewing where history was made.
Tuesday morning we decided to go to a temple where we haven't attended yet. A drive to the Timpanogos temple. What a beautiful experience to be able to go inside.
Finally over to the University mall for a walk. Only a true shopper would understand this sign. On this wonderful vacation we are  feeling 21 again.:)

Weekend wonders

We went to Neil & Sara's to help with installing tile in two of their bathrooms. Neil gets the fun of ripping up the old flooring in the master bathroom and toilet areas.
While Neil was putting down the tile, I was cutting the tiles to fit, I am sure cutting was more fun.
Placing one of the cut pieces into place by the door way.
Tile in the guest bathroom extends into the closet.(On the right)
Decorative edge in master bathroom,

All the tile in place, Neil & Sara will start the grouting, after letting tile setup a few days.
We took a trip to Hoover Dam. The weather was 108, so we didn't walk around very much. Only for a  few pictures.
Hoover dam and new span bridge.
Fun weekend with our kids.
Grandma and Ethan played with Sydney the whole day,
The Span bridge built so travelers don't have to drive over Dam, any more. Saving a lot of time. There is also a walk way on the bridge, if someone wants to look down to valley floor in front of the Dam. We will do that someday when it is cooler.
Back home, Utah fluffy clouds, bright blue sky...

Garden of plenty.

We have three garden boxes that we planted in this spring. They measure 4 ft. by 10ft with a central watering system. It is great to see the plants grow and have vegies to share.
This box has tomatoes, and cucumbers

A closer look at the tomatoes.

We have grown tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, green bell peppers, jalapenos, onions and water melon.
Check out the sizes that have grown.

Mother's Day

I had a happy mother's day dinner prepared by Corinne and Chad. YUM!! It was great talking to all my children and being celebrated as their mother. All the years of  hard work raising 6 kids paid off with a wonderful family that bring me the greatest joy in my life. I am so proud of each one of them, and love them so much.

Coldy Coldy

Looking forward to the trip.

It's getting hotter in St. George Ut.  So these pictures at the beach will cool us down until our trip in June.
This group looks ready now.

Julie and Micah strapped in for the long haul.
Dewey says "Way to go Mommy, looks like you got this carrier figured out."
Neil, Sara, and Sydney-  It's not Hawaii, but the ocean none the less.
Corinne and Chad, all smiles now and hopefully no sunburns later. Water, Sun and Fun, great combo.
